Drama productions at O'Hara are a favorite student event. Students in 5th - 8th grades audition each spring for the school's drama production, which usually features around 100 students in roles as actors, tech crew, stage crew and concessions. Students rehearse for several months, perfecting each aspect of the show, learning all about theater techniques in front of and behind the curtain.
O'Hara has featured a wide variety of musicals in the past, including Annie, Peter Pan, Fiddler on the Roof, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz. The students perform for a school wide audience during their dress rehearsal, and then to a full audience of community members in three nighttime productions. The team spirit and professionalism of the students as they perform in the musical is a highlight of the O'Hara music program.
