O'Hara will be reinstating our Family Involvement Program (FIP) hours for the school year. This program requires that each family complete 36 hours of volunteer activity at O'Hara. Each incomplete hour will be charged a fee at the end of the school year. If you have questions about FIP hours, please email the front office.
In order to complete FIP hours, each volunteer needs to have completed our volunteer requirements. We are requesting that parents complete their background check and this year’s online requirement(s) now so they are cleared to volunteer before the school year begins. You must have completed the volunteer requirements in order to volunteer.
ARCHDIOCESAN VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE 2026/2027 SCHOOL YEAR
The Archdiocese assigns child protection requirements to ensure that all volunteers and staff are trained and cleared to work in schools, and that our schools and churches remain safe for our kids. You must complete all requirements before you will be permitted to volunteer.
We are requesting that parents complete the requirement(s) now so they are cleared to volunteer before the school year begins. You must complete the requirements before you will be cleared to volunteer for field trips, working in the classroom, school store, cafeteria, or other school functions.
INFORMATION FOR RETURNING FAMILIES
This year's online course requirement is Maintaining a Culture of Safety in Youth Serving Organizations. If you did not complete the Know Your Policies course last Spring, you will need to complete it. You will be notified if you need to renew your background check. Please complete the requirements by Tuesday, September 1st.
You can login to Praesidium Academy by clicking HERE to get to the login page. After you login, scroll down to the Featured section and click on the course to complete it. Make sure you EXIT the course or it will not show as completed in your Praesidium account.
INFORMATION FOR NEW FAMILIES
The requirements for new volunteers are:
- Complete the CASE (Creating a Safe Environment) training (done at the school)
- Complete a background check.
- Complete the online course:
- Know Your Policies
- A Praesidium Academy account has been set up for you. You can login to Praesidium Academy by clicking HERE to get to the login page. The email address is the one you have registered with O'Hara in your FACTS account. For the password, click on forgot password to create a password.
Once you have logged in, scroll down to the Know Your Policies and click on the course to complete it. For the background check, scroll down to Your Content and click on the background check to it. If you have not completed the CASE training, please contact Stacie Seaver to set up a time to complete it.
