The Living Saints Project is a highlight of the sixth grade experience. Each student studies a different Saint and shares what they have learned with the school community. The project integrates research skills, encourages reading of diverse and challenging materials, supports writing skills, and nurtures our students' spiritual development. We integrate art and prayer as we study the traditions of icons and illuminated manuscripts and create our own. The culminating activity allows our students to publicly share their Saints' stories through videos and/or presentations to the school community. The whole school gets involved!

More than 1000 students have completed this project over the years, and it has been nationally recognized. Our sixth graders look forward to beginning this project each year, and their efforts continue to support them as they navigate life beyond O'Hara.  Indeed, it is not uncommon that they will select their sixth grade Saints as their confirmation Saints!
